The Oklahoma Department of Securities (ODS) has issued a warning regarding HQI Exchange and its alleged involvement in a suspected cryptocurrency fraud scheme. The alert was reported on June 15, 2026, as regulators urged investors to exercise caution when dealing with the platform.
According to state regulators, the suspected scheme involves BG Wealth Sharing Ltd, DSJ Exchange PTY Ltd, and HQI Exchange. The ODS stated that it is acting on complaints received from partner securities regulators and has advised Oklahoma residents to stop sending funds to these platforms immediately while investigations continue.
HQI Exchange reportedly originated from BG Wealth Sharing, a “click-a-button” investment scheme that was allegedly operated by Chinese scammers. Similar schemes have appeared online for years, promising unrealistic returns while relying on continuous recruitment and deposits from new participants.
BG Wealth Sharing was promoted by a figure known as Stephen Beard, who was presented as “Professor Stephen Beard.” Reports indicate that the character was portrayed by an actor using an AI-generated avatar to create credibility and attract investors. Regulators continue to warn consumers to verify investment opportunities before sending money to online platforms.
