Nicholas Coppola, a known figure in the MLM and crypto scam industry, has been sentenced to a two-year suspended prison term in Italy. Authorities found that Coppola defrauded eighteen investors out of €400,000 EUR, following multiple complaints that triggered a criminal investigation. His sentencing took place on October 10, 2025, after his arrest in December of the previous year.

Restitution and Trial Details

As part of the court’s ruling, Coppola is required to repay €140,000 EUR in restitution to three of his victims. His reduced sentence came through a summary trial, where proceedings are based solely on evidence presented without dispute. This process helped expedite the case, though it left open a narrow chance of acquittal based on the submitted materials.

Ongoing Investigations and Victim Settlements

While only three victims received compensation, reports confirm that fifteen others have not yet joined as civil plaintiffs. Some of them, represented by attorney Matteo Moschini, are seeking settlements outside the court. Authorities have launched additional investigations related to Coppola’s activities in similar fraudulent investment schemes.

Background and Previous Involvement in Scams

Coppola first gained notoriety through his involvement in the Meta Utopia Ponzi scheme in 2022. His efforts to distance himself from the scam led to exposure on BehindMLM’s DMCA Wall of Shame. Recent updates suggest that Coppola has since become a father and is reportedly less active on social media, although he remains under investigation for other investment-related offenses.
