Justin Sun Shares Insights on Bitcoin and Global Finance at Bitcoin Asia 2026

TRON and Bitcoin Asia partnership in Hong Kong

TRON Founder Justin Sun took part in Bitcoin Asia 2026 in Hong Kong. He joined two fireside discussions focused on Bitcoin’s evolution, institutional adoption, and the future of digital finance. The event highlighted growing interest in blockchain’s role in global capital markets.

Bitcoin’s Shift Toward Institutional and Global Markets

In a session with Bonnie Chang on the Nakamoto Stage, Sun discussed “The Globalization of Bitcoin Capital.” He noted that Bitcoin has moved past its early experimental phase. It now serves as an established global monetary asset and store of value. Sun also said the traditional four-year cycle may become less clear as institutional flows, derivatives, liquidity, and macroeconomic factors play larger roles.

Stablecoins and Bitcoin Work as Complementary Assets

Sun described Bitcoin and stablecoins as complementary tools. Bitcoin acts as a store of value, while stablecoins handle payments and settlement. He pointed to strong real-world usage on TRON, which holds more than $94 billion in USDT. This activity shows that demand for digital dollars can stay high even when broader crypto markets fluctuate.

Preparing for Quantum Computing and AI in Blockchain

Sun addressed longer-term technology shifts. TRON is testing post-quantum signature technology on the Nile testnet to prepare for future security risks. On artificial intelligence, he said autonomous AI agents may one day hold assets, make payments, and interact with financial apps. Blockchain’s transparent and verifiable design could become more important as these systems gain economic independence.

TRON’s Growing Role in Everyday Digital Finance

In a second discussion with Sean Hagan, Sun shared how his views on Bitcoin have evolved and explored opportunities across digital assets. TRON continues to expand as a settlement layer for stablecoins and daily transactions. The network now supports over 401 million user accounts, more than 15 billion transactions, and over $27 billion in total value locked.
