Green Compass has officially ended its multi-level marketing (MLM) business model. The announcement was made during a company event held around July 2, 2026, marking a significant shift in the company’s sales strategy.

Green Compass informed its promoters that the company would no longer operate as an MLM business. Instead, it will transition to an affiliate-based compensation model.

The North Carolina-based CBD wellness company was previously known for rewarding distributors through customer sales, recruitment, and recurring autoship orders.

Founded by R. Sterling Cook and Meredith Cook, Green Compass specializes in CBD wellness products.

When reviewed in 2020, the company’s compensation plan relied heavily on autoship recruitment and recurring monthly purchases, a common feature in many MLM businesses.

New Affiliate Compensation Plan

Green Compass says its new affiliate program offers a simpler earning structure.

According to the company’s July 8, 2026, press release, advocates can:

  • Earn up to 40% commission on customer purchases.

  • Receive rewards for referring new advocates.

  • Promote products through a simplified affiliate model.

The company refers to its promoters as Advocates.

Although the MLM structure has ended, affiliates can still earn from their own customer sales and personally referred advocates. However, they will no longer receive traditional residual MLM commissions from multiple recruitment levels.

Why Did Green Compass Leave MLM?

Green Compass stated that the previous business model no longer reflected how consumers discover and share wellness products today.

However, industry observers point to other possible reasons.

Reports suggest many distributors left Green Compass for Atmosphera in early 2026 after compensation plan changes introduced in 2025. The company reportedly terminated the accounts of many departing promoters approximately two months later.

Website Traffic Shows Declining Interest

According to Similarweb data from June 2026, Green Compass recorded approximately 11,700 monthly website visits.

Most website traffic came from:

  • United States – 89%

  • India – 6%

  • Canada – 6%

The relatively low traffic may indicate reduced market activity compared to previous years.

What This Means for Promoters

The transition removes Green Compass from the traditional MLM model.

Existing promoters will now operate as affiliates, focusing on direct product sales and referral commissions rather than building downline organizations with recurring residual income.
