The Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has issued a securities fraud warning involving Ultima Cryptocurrency Group. The regulator included the company in its latest list of entities allegedly operating without the required license.

The warning was published on July 22, 2026, as part of the SEC’s ongoing efforts to protect investors from unauthorized investment schemes.

Ultima Operating Without a License, Says SEC

According to the Ghana SEC, Ultima is not licensed to conduct capital market activities in the country.

The regulator stated that none of the listed entities have received authorization under Section 3 of the Securities Industry Act, 2016 (Act 929), as amended.

The SEC also confirmed that it is working with law enforcement agencies to investigate and take action against individuals behind unlicensed investment operations.

Public Advised to Avoid Unlicensed Investments

The Ghana SEC warned that offering investment opportunities without proper registration may violate securities laws.

The regulator urged consumers to exercise caution and avoid investing in unlicensed financial products promoted by unauthorized companies.

The warning is part of Ghana’s broader campaign to reduce investment fraud and protect the public from high-risk schemes.

Ultima's History and Evolution

Ultima is the latest version of a crypto investment program associated with Alex Reinhardt, who has been linked to several previous cryptocurrency ventures.

Reinhardt first became involved in the MLM crypto sector through SwissCoin during 2015 and 2016.

After SwissCoin collapsed, he launched PlatinCoin in 2017.

When PlatinCoin declined, the project was rebranded as PlatinWorld in 2021.

The ecosystem later introduced PlatinCoin Ultima (PLCU), followed by PLCUC, before eventually transitioning to Ultima in 2024.

During the same period, another project called Banqiro was launched but reportedly shut down only weeks after its debut.

Ultima Website and Operations

Ultima currently operates through the ultima.io domain.

The domain was originally registered in 2016, while its private registration details were last updated in October 2025.

Public reports indicate that the project is managed from Dubai, where many international crypto businesses are based.

ULTIMA Token Price Performance

The ULTIMA token has experienced significant price fluctuations.

Recent market data shows the token trading at approximately $2,244, compared to a reported peak of around $22,681 in February 2025.

Independent analysts have questioned whether public market prices accurately reflect real trading activity. They suggest that limited liquidity and internal trading could influence the token’s reported value.

Website Traffic Shows Sharp Growth

Traffic data indicates that Ultima’s website experienced a notable increase in visitors during June 2026.

Monthly visits reportedly rose from approximately 16,400 to nearly 190,000.

Most of the traffic originated from:

  • India – 93%

  • Bangladesh – 4%

The increase suggests growing interest in the platform, particularly across South Asia.

ULucky Launch Drives New Attention

Industry observers believe much of the recent traffic is connected to ULucky, a newly introduced project within the Ultima ecosystem.

ULucky is centered around the ULUCKY token and follows a similar participation model. Users exchange cryptocurrency for platform tokens with the expectation of future returns.

As with many high-risk crypto investment programs, financial experts advise investors to carefully research any platform before committing funds.

Conclusion

The Ghana SEC’s latest warning adds regulatory attention to Ultima’s operations. Investors are encouraged to verify whether any investment platform is properly licensed before participating.

With regulators increasing oversight of crypto-related investment programs, conducting thorough due diligence remains essential for protecting personal funds.
