Donald Trump has called on the U.S. House of Representatives to swiftly pass the GENIUS Act without introducing any changes. The legislation, which positions the United States at the forefront of stablecoin innovation, recently secured bipartisan approval in the Senate.
Trump praised the Senate’s action and underlined the necessity of a simple passage in a post on Truth Social that was later reposted via X. “Send it to my desk immediately—NO DELAYS, NO ADD-ONS,” he stated, affirming his belief that the GENIUS Act will establish America as the undisputed leader in the digital asset space.
Establishing a regulatory framework for stablecoin issuers is the goal of the GENIUS Act, which stands for Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for US Stablecoins. The bill now advances to the House for final consideration.
If approved without revisions, it will proceed directly to Trump for signing. However, any modifications would return the bill to the Senate, potentially delaying its enactment.
Concerns remain that the House may attempt to consolidate it with its own version, the STABLE Act, though the White House has signaled stronger backing for the GENIUS proposal.
The market has already been stimulated by the Senate’s approval; in response, Tether and Ripple have released new stablecoins, and Circle’s stock has increased by 30%. Major players like Coinbase and Gemini publicly supported the decision.
Trump has continuously defended stablecoins as a means of preserving U.S. dollar supremacy. With the GENIUS Act, he aims to solidify America’s leadership in the evolving digital finance space.
