Although Blažek asserted he had no knowledge of any unlawful conduct tied to the donation, he chose to resign in order to prevent further harm to the government’s image. In an X post, he stated, “I don’t want to harm the government’s or the ruling coalition’s reputation.”

While Blažek continues to claim that there is no proof the funds were obtained illegally, emerging reports indicate the donation may have originated from an individual previously convicted of drug-related offenses.
