In 2024, Saif Faiq and his brother Adam Iza organized the scheme after learning that Veer Chetal had stolen around 4,100 bitcoins.
Faiq recruited six men from Florida, arranged their travel to Connecticut, and helped plan the attack after surveilling the victims. The group carjacked Sushil and Radhika Chetal’s Lamborghini Urus in broad daylight in Danbury. They rear-ended the vehicle, pulled the couple out, beat them with a baseball bat, and briefly detained them.
Guilty Plea and Charges
Faiq pleaded guilty to conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery. His brother Adam Iza pleaded guilty to the same charge on June 1.
The six men involved in the carjacking have already pleaded guilty to kidnapping and carjacking charges. Faiq has been in custody since his arrest on November 12, 2025. He is scheduled to be sentenced on August 28.
Background and Connection
The victims, Sushil and Radhika Chetal, are the parents of Veer Chetal. Veer had participated in a social engineering scam to steal the bitcoins and was showing off his wealth when he met one of the conspirators.
