Young Living launches affiliate model through Wyld Notes

Through Wyld Notes, Young Living has introduced a single-level affiliate reward scheme.

According to a Beauty Packaging article from January 13th, which quotes Mary Young, co-founder and CEO of Young Living,

Wyld Notes embodies our future vision: a fresh approach to consumer engagement and Brand Partner empowerment while being deeply grounded in the Network Marketing framework that defines us.

We are thrilled to be at the forefront of this movement and are establishing a new benchmark for the sector.

Wyld Notes has named Gaya Samarasingha (right) as its CEO.

Samarasingha has served in several MLM leadership positions, such as Young Living’s Director of International Development.

Samarasingha created Kalaia, an MLM business, in late 2017 and serves as its CEO in addition to Wyld Notes.

Wyld Notes sells a variety of essential oils, just as Young Living.

As part of its compensation scheme, Wyld Notes only pays a 25% commission on personal sales.

Simple incentives for your efforts—no convoluted levels or criteria.

Wyld Notes is being introduced as a “sister company,” even though the aforementioned, which was taken from their website, seems to be a criticism of Young Living.

Young Living Brand Partners that take part in the Wyld Notes affiliate program can earn commissions from both Wyld Notes and Young Living thanks to the hybrid approach.

Samarasingha echoes this viewpoint in an Instagram post from January 5th, saying:

With its smooth integration with Young Living, this initiative presents YL Brand Partners with a revolutionary development potential in 2025 and beyond.

Wyld Notes seems to be aimed mostly at current Young Living Brand Partners, at least at launch.

This begs the question, “Why wasn’t Wyld Notes just introduced as a Young Living affiliate option?”

There are only two explanations that immediately spring to mind:

Since Wyld Notes isn’t truly for Young Living’s current MLM Brand Partners, the company sought to debut it without any visible MLM associations.

For Young Living’s Brand Partners, neither is good news.

What does it indicate about Young Living’s faith in the multilevel marketing industry if Wyld Notes was established as a stand-alone business to avoid public identification with the industry?

Young Living Brand Partners would not benefit if Wyld Notes was introduced with the intention of creating a non-MLM sales force.

And what if Young Living is overshadowed by Wyld Notes?

Young Living is among the multilevel marketing organisations that have recently shifted to a single-level affiliate model.

In May 2023, Pure Romance became affiliate-only.

In December 2023, Travelling Vineyard became affiliate-only.

In February 2024, PartyLite became an affiliate-only platform; in July 2024, Ryan and Fields followed suit; and in October 2024, BeachBody did the same.

The introduction of Wyld Notes is planned for later this month. Samarasingha said she was “call[ing] in every favour to get Wyld Noted launched on time” on February 21st.
